Remdesivir anti-viral drug is proven to treat Corona virus

Some studies and experiments conducted by scientists on a group of monkeys showed that Remdesivir improves the symptoms of Corona virus and greatly reduces its risks to the body.

According to the American journal Newsweek, scientists infected two groups of 6 monkeys with the Coruna virus, and 12 hours after the animals were infected. The medical team began to give her medicine once a day for 6 days.

And the medical team was monitoring and checking regularly the symptoms that appear on the monkeys and the amount of the virus they carry. After seven days, they mercilessly killed the animals and performed an autopsy. And after performing the necessary tests, the doctors found that the animals that were given the drug did not appear They had signs of respiratory disease, and they also found that pneumonia was at minor levels when it was last.

And the medical team stated that virus levels in the lower respiratory tract of the animals decreased.
However, despite this, the virus levels did not decrease in the nose, throat or rectal swabs obtained from the animals treated with the medicine after 12 hours. However, after four days had passed, they observed that the levels of the virus decreased in the throat swabs.

And studies showed that the autopsy showed that the viral load in the lungs of the monkeys that were given the drug was clearly low and that the damage to the lung tissue was significantly less.

And the medical team concluded that "treatment that begins early during the infection has a significant and clear benefit in macaques infected with SARS, and this data supports the initiation of treatment with early design in patients with COVID-19 to prevent progression to acute pneumonia."

But the researchers admitted: it is difficult to translate the timing of the treatment used for the corresponding stages of the disease in humans, due to the acute nature of the disease in macaques.

Al-Ataya also stated that this type of antiviral medication is usually less effective against acute viral infections of the respiratory system.
